What We Offer
With plenty of different actives planned every day with a person centred approach, there is always something going on for individuals to get involved in, please see bellow some of our main activites that occur at Reach Out Caring.
Animal Care
We have many animals who live at Reach Out including Dudley and Belle, Inca and Immy our Valais black nose sheep, Bam Bam and Pebbles our naughty goats, Dodger the donkey, Rodney the pony, lots of guinea-pigs and plenty of feathered friends. All our animals are very friendly and love interacting with our individuals as much as they love them. They are part of our family here at Reach Out and receive top, quality care.

Caring for the animals helps our individuals learn to put others before themselves and have compassion for others. Individuals can enjoy feeding, watering, cleaning out, grooming, taking all our animals for walks as well as learning about each different animal.
Woodwork
Our Workshop is fully kitted out with tools for individuals to have a go at making our bespoke items, getting involved with every step from taking wood apart, cutting, measuring and finally building giving our inddiivudals vital work skills. Our Workshop also allows vehicles to drive in creating the opportunity for these young adults to work on our farm tractors, lawn mowers and cars in a dry, safe space.
Inside our workshop we also have our furniture restoration project, where individuals can have a go at up-cycling. By using ABA and TEACH our individuals are able to learn how to use tools safely.
Horticulture
In the summer our little farm becomes a paradise for insects and bees, with flowers everywhere you can see. Individuals can get involved in growing these flowers from tiny seeds in the green house to beautiful plants in our hand made planters.

In the fields we have raised planters for growing fruit and vegetables all year round, many years ago the land that Reach Out is set on was a local fruit and vegetable shop and keeping up with that old tradition is really important to us at Reach Out. Individuals get involved in sowing, watering, pruning and weeding our raised beds. All the produce grown is shared out between family's/carers or used in our kitchen.
Living Skills
Teaching individuals how to clean their surrounding and general life skills plays a big role in our day to day activities at the farm. This includes learning to use a mop, hoover, cleaning windows, wiping sides down and other general living skills.
By offering this we are helping our indiduals become more independent and giving them more skills which will help them in their future and their day to day lives.
Trips Out
With all the hard work going on it wouldn't be fair that our young adults didn't get to enjoy organised trips out and walks through the forest. We have a rewards system set up where individuals have to opportunity to work towards what ever they please. Recently we have enjoyed visiting Thorpe park, Paultons park, Sunny fields farm and have lots more trips planned.
Being out in the community with a safe and friendly group really helps build confidence for some of our young adults.
Equine Therapy
Horses have been proven to have a natural calming effect, our miniture donkey, Dodger and our cob, Wurzle defiantly put a smile on our service users faces, they currently enjoy talking the for walks, grooming, getting hands on with training and in the future Wurzle will be able to offer cart rides for all our young adults.
Community work
At Reach Out we work closely with our local parish council. We have got involved in lots of different projects over the past years including planting a willow crown for the queens jubilee, planting around our local area and creating wall art Poppy's out of recycled pallet wood for remembrance Sunday.
